Ramona P. (Vanderpool) McLean, 94, went to be with Jesus on Saturday, June 30, 2018. Ramona was a wonderful lady who was loved, is missed, and will always be cherished. Our “Grandma Mona”, as she liked to be called by her grandchildren, was a selfless, loving, and patient woman of the Lord. She was an avid game player, an excellent cook, and a talented cross-sticher.
Married to Max W. McLean, Ramona’s life was surrounded by family, friends, and colleagues. She had three children, Karen (Mark) Spangler, Dan (Karen) McLean, and Ron (Jeanette) McLean, who filled her life with numerous grandchildren. Ramona made every member of the family feel like they were number one in her eyes.
From participating in small groups to being an active member of First Church of the Nazarene, friends held an important place in her life. Ramona enjoyed traveling with and entertaining her friends. A first grade teacher in Perry Township School Corporation for over 26 years, she was highly regarded by her colleagues and students.
Visitation will be from 4:00 to 6:30, Saturday, July 7 at First Church of the Nazarene, 9401 E. 25th with the funeral service to follow at 6:30.

Dear Family,
I am so sorry for your loss. May God’s promise bring you comfort. There will be “a new earth… and He will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore… I am making all things new.”
Revelation 21:1-5

Karen, Dan and Ron,
Aunt Ramona, and your Mom will certainly be missed. I have so many great memories of our families growing up together. Her loving and caring spirit is an inspiration for all of us. God bless you and we will all sing together when next we see her.

All of D.I.’s kids are together again. What a reunion! My many memories of Auntie Mona include clothes she made for my favorite doll, wonderful deserts and laughter playing table games during holidays. She was always available whenever needed and joyously gave of her time, talent and wisdom. What a legacy! All my love to her family and prayers for God’s gracious comfort during this time of loss.

Ron and family….we celebrate with you in the homecoming of your mom and grandmother to her eternal reward. We enjoyed the celebration of life service last evening and rejoice with you that Ramona’s memory and legacy will live on in your family. The comments that you, Dan, Karen and Luke expressed, certainly recaptured the life of Ramona and the life that she left for you all to emulate. Looking forward to having you slip a $50 bill in the palm of my hand someday soon!
